Thermaltake Armor Revo Gene Mid-Tower Case Review
Over the years, Thermaltake has made a habit of taking existing case products and re-working them. Sometimes they make them bigger, sometimes smaller, and sometimes they simply make them better. Past examples would be the beastly Level 10 or the Soprano series. The Level 10 was made smaller and called ...
HIS HD 7850 iPower IceQ Turbo 4GB GPU Review with Crossfire
HIS sent us not one, but two of their brand new 7850 iPower IceQ Turbo 4 GB cards. I find the combination of 4 GB of RAM and a 7850 to be a bit odd as a single card has little hope of driving enough monitor to need more than ...
Logisys PS480X2 PSU Review
We've got a dubious one here today folks! Logisys wouldn't dream of sending one of these things out for review, but Glorious Leader stepped up and threw down some cash to make it happen. This thing cost $14.50 shipped with tax, the big question is: Will it explode? If not, ...

HIS HD 7850 iPower IceQ Turbo 4GB GPU Review with Crossfire

HIS sent us not one, but two of their brand new 7850 iPower IceQ Turbo 4GB cards. I find the combination of 4GB of RAM and a 7850 to be a bit odd as a single card has little hope of driving enough monitor to need more than 2GB. A pair of cards on the other hand, have a chance. In Crossfire (and SLI) the GPU RAM is not added together, a pair of 2GB cards still gives you 2GB. Thus for high resolution (or extremely high detail) use, two 2GB cards might not cut it. Enter the 7850 4GB cards! Inexpensive enough to crossfire (I hope), plenty of RAM for top end stuff. The main question is, does a 7850 core have enough guts to push that many pixels? I aim to find out.

In Win Commander III “Desert Fox” 700 W Power Supply Review
Posted by Bobnova in System & Components
We’ve got a military themed PSU here, the In Win Commander III Desert Fox 700 W. The full name is a bit of a mouthful, the Desert Fox nickname hails from WW2, and the box has digital cammo on it. A bit of an odd combination, but definitely unique. The real questions in my mind are, did In Win think about who the Desert Fox was? Will this unit emerge victorious or die trying? Is it really desert tan? Am I drawing this excerpt out too far? For answers to most of these questions, read the review!

Enermax MAXREVO 1500 W 80+ Gold Fully Modular PSU Review
Posted by Bobnova in Reviews, System & Components
Enermax has been towards the top of the power supply manufacturer heap for quite a while, they were one of the first brands to push into the high power (for the time) and high efficiency (for the time) arena that we all take for granted now. Today’s unit is much higher wattage and much higher efficiency than those past units of course, but you can smell the history. Or possibly the solder fumes. In any case, let’s see how the MAXREVO performs!
