Inner City Economic Summit, October 2011

In October 2011, Dr. Michael E. Porter's Initiative for a Competitive Inner City hosted a national summit, "Creating an Urban Growth Agenda."

The summit spotlighted how Chicago's unique model for partnership between corporate, municipal, and civic actors contributes to economic growth. Reinvention at City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) was a case study.

Civic Consulting Alliance "gets it done," Mayor Richard M. Daley said in his last address to the Civic Consulting board. He spoke of what the 22 years of partnership meant for him and for the city. This type of partnershipunique to Chicagocould benefit other cities, other governments, and other countries.
