Comments: Melbourne Beach Native to Join 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas First Lieutenant Austin Moore, a Melbourne Beach native, completed Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training and Advanced Graduate Flight Training in a UH-60M Blackhawk on November 29 2012, at the U.S. Army Aviation School of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama. Lieutenant Moore is a 2007 graduate of Westshore Junior/Senior High School in Melbourne, and a Brevard County Ocean lifeguard and first responder. He is also a 2011 Distinguished Military Graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he majored in Air Traffic Management with a minor in Meteorology. At Embry-Riddle, Moore was a 2009 Army ROTC Superior Cadet Award recipient; and a 4-year, 2-sport college athlete who was named a 2011 NAIA Academic All American. Lieutenant Moore is the son of Thomas and Kelley Moore of Melbourne Beach. He will be stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he will join the 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment.
