Since the lessons are not designed to be covered in one day we obviously have to come back to them. It is difficult to have to page through to find my location in the lesson. This is made even more difficult by the fact that many pages look similar. It would be great to be able to bookmark my location and then click on my bookmark to find my spot without wasting valuable class time.

Hi Jana, Thanks for contacting us. Yep -- right now when you assign any resource in a lesson, all the resources in that lesson are available to your students. We're reviewing options for limiting specific resources such as Reading Challenges and Assessments, but until we find a fix, just know that if you assign a lesson your students will be able to see those resources. It would be nice to preview the test in the window and not have to dl a pdf to view every change. Also, the process of guesstimating page breaks is very arduous, could you program questions to never be split across two pages? Lastly, having the functionality to modify or copy exams would be nice. Offering the ability to automatically eliminate an incorrect option for every question would be nice. Or to simply copy the exam to make my own modification for lower level and SPED students would be ideal.

Just a question about your suggestion to copy assessments. Did you mean that this would create a carbon copy of an assessment that you had already made, allowing you the option to then modify the subsequent copy and rename it?

Thanks for your feedback! The reason we don't have this feature already is that it would make automatic grading impossible. We see teachers who are interested in assigning complex thinking questions to their class use TCI's interactive student notebook, which you can assign to your class and then grade at your leisure. There are many essay questions, short answer questions and even drawing questions in the ISN to explore....

From a school warehouse standpoint, it would be nice to be able to click on a kit in the online ordering catalog and have it list all the components inlcuded with ISBN's. We receive materials back from schools and need to know what all comes in the kit so that we can re-stock the complete kit. Or need to know which component(s) are missing, and need to re-order.

We've just updated our navigation recently. You can click Next within each section of the student text and notebook. You can also click into each lesson from your homepage and the Lesson and Pacing Calendar. Hope that helps you get where your going faster!

Make videos provided in teacher presentation available to students [is now under review]

When my students attempted to finish the homework questions associated with chapter 13, they ran into a slight issue where they had no access to the video that was embedded into the presentation for chapter 13. Additionally, in the past, students have asked if there is anyway they can revisit and review a video that is available online in the presentation for review prior to a test. My question, after all the lead up is this: Would it be possible to make the videos accessible to students outside of the presentation that is shown in class? Just a quick thought as it may make it a bit easier for students to watch a video prior to class so that it can be discussed during class (sort of in the flip teaching methodology). Sorry, right now it is not possible for us to develop a more printer-friendly version of the interactive student notebook. If you print using your own browser print function you may be able to get what you need to work offline. Hope that helps!

I really like that you can view trends with the Reading Challenge. I think it would be beneficial to do the same thing with Online Assessments. This would allow the teacher to see if a large group of students missed the same concept.

Date and Time stamp assignments [updated]

I have been assigning the online assignments (such as the Challenge) and transfer scores into my gradebook. However, there are students who dispute the score days or weeks later and when I look again, the assignment (that they previously received a zero on the day it was due) has been done. Since the assignments are not "time or date stamped," it is my word against the child's that it wasn't due on time. Since I have a late penalty, etc., this puts me in a bad position. What do y'all think of TCI date and time stamping assignments. I am actually afraid to use the new online worksheets until this is added! Please share your thoughts!

I print out the scores from the Reading Challenges right after the due date to prevent issues. As for the notebook assignments, start taking screenshots or do printouts of students you suspect of exploiting this. Make sure your browser's print setting includes the time and date on the print out. This has vindicated me on several occasions.

Can you please add spell check to the question and answer sections of assessments? Also it would be nice if you could hit enter after each answer space to go to the next one instead of it saving the question.

I supervise social studies for ____ Schools. Are you able to offer me a report of student usage of the online subscriptions. How can I justify this expense without this report? Specifically, Which students have used it thus far this year? How often? What is the peak number of simultaneous use? Will the report show time of day (during school hours/after)?

This feature is available in the current subscription. In any chapter, go to the assessment tool, create your own, and select "add from question bank".

At the top of that page, there will be a drop down for chapters. Pick any chapter and add as many or as few questions from that chapter as you would like.
