Helping others

spacer Jesse Williams, left, and Diana Barbee load canned goods and packaged food items for delivery to the Hunger and Health Coalition. More than 760 pounds of food and other items were donated by Appalachian State University employees to the “Show That You Have a Heart” challenge that was part of a UNC system-wide initiative. Williams is a graduate student in the university’s marriage and family therapy program. Diana Barbee is an administrative support specialist in the Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling and a member of Appalachian’s Staff Council, which sponsored the food drive. Sculptor Trace O’Connor holds residency at Appalachian

spacer BOONE—Artist Trace O’Connor will hold a residency at Appalachian State University March 1-5.

O’Connor’s sculpture “Iscariot” won the Martin and Doris Rosen Outdoor Sculpture competition held on campus. His visit is part of the Rosen Artist Residency program. [more]

MEISA Presents: UNPLUGGED Feb. 27

Campus siren warning system tested March 3 at Appalachian

BOONE—The campus siren warning system at Appalachian State University will be activated Wednesday, March 3, at 11:55 a.m.  The test of the siren system is normally conducted the first Wednesday of each month. [more]

Appalachian Concert Band performs March 3
