Twelve-Step Facilitation and Mutual-Help Groups in Addiction Treatment
13 CEUs. Cost $130—Tiffany Cole-Hall
April 4 (Thursday 6:00pm – 9:30pm) and April 5 (Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm)
In this course students will:
• Develop beginning skills in providing Twelve-Step Facilitation and be able to differentiate this practice from clients’ participation in Twelve-Step groups
• Be introduced to a variety of mutual help groups, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Women for Sobriety, and Rational Recovery
• Consider the utility of mutual help groups as adjuncts to addiction treatment of all types
• Be provided training for the core functions of referral and counseling
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of addictions is recommended
