Welcome to The Arboretum at Flagstaff

Open to the public from May through October, The Arboretum at Flagstaff is located on 200 acres within the Coconino National Forest.  A research and environmental education center, the Arboretum is home to 2,500 species of plants in greenhouses, gardens, and natural habitats.

The Arboretum encompasses horticultural collections, rare plant specimens, historic buildings, and a nature trail through the Ponderosa pine forest.

Founded in 1981 with a mission to increase the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of plants and plant communities native to the Colorado Plateau, The Arboretum offers guided tours, school programs, and other events.

Ar-bo-re-tum: A place where trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants are cultivated for scientific and educational purposes.
