In this sequel to “The Battle of Leila the Dog,” everybody’s favorite Gartino, Cy De Gerch, returns home to Mars after nearly losing her life and her ship. But Mars is not the home she remembers . . . and her life there is not quite her own.

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about second chances and parallel timelines. With lots of irritating musical references. Be warned.

Wes is tired of being fat. He’s tried everything, diet, exercise, medication, even surgery, but he remains morbidly obese. Nothing works, and he’s about to find out why…

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about the story, how it differs from the usual holiday fare, what could be done with it in the future and so on.

Episode 137: Todd Elrin And The Forever Reset by Jonathan C. Gillespie

Posted in Action, Jonathan C. Gillespie, Science Fiction, Short Story on November 26, 2012 by dunesteef

It’s the last day of the year, and it’s time for Todd Elrin to leave his current location, and start the year over somewhere else, as he has done many times this particular calendar year. But an angry visitor from the future has other plans.

Afterward, Big and Rish sing about Jonathan C. Gillespie, and ruminate about the similarities between this story and another, and the differences one man can make in one’s life. Hopefully no hate letters will be necessary after this one.

Special thanks to Tanja Milojevic for producing today’s story and lending her voice to the tale, and to Gino Moretto for providing the episode art.

Episode 136: CHEMO: The Pieces Of Erica Smith by J.M. Perkins

Posted in Action, Horror, J.M. Perkins, Science Fiction, Short Story on October 29, 2012 by dunesteef

It’s only been two months since Agent Joseph faced masses of zombies while locked inside of a prison. Now, he has a new mission. This one is so big that half of all CHEMO is being mobilized. They have to destroy every last piece of the immortal cell line that spawned out of a tumor grown on a woman named Erica Smith.

Afterwards, Big and Rish talk CHEMO, get a lot of text messages, and giggle far more than is professionally acceptable. Beware, there’s probably something offensive in all of that…we’re not sure what, but we’re pretty sure it’s there.

Special thanks to Wendy Cooper for producing today’s story, and to Clay Dugger for lending his voice to today’s episode.
