Introducing the NEW SPORTSTER36"Our most popular shredder; Now available in a brand new Red Dip - The drop-through design combined with our new RDR mold (radial micro-drops and rocker throughout the standing platform) give this deck a low down, high response, super controlled ride unlike any other board to date. The ultra-mild dampening flex provided by the rockered shape and hip notches make this deck comfortable on smooth or rough terrain and the forked nose design allow it to pack a huge engine into a tight 36" frame while still maintaining a full 30" wheelbase.

IDEA
We've been toying more and more with the micro-drop top-mount decks but wanted something with the same foot locking ability in a lower, leaner frame. We envisioned a drop-thru shape but suspected that a micro-drop would be more responsive than a full-drop, hence the Sportster is closer to a 'drop-thru EQ' than a 'drop-thru Ibach'. After completing the RDR mold (1/2" radial drop + 1/2" rocker) we set out to design a shape that would offer the most bang for your buck in a drop-thru design. We decided that sacrificing kicks and adding the hip notches would make the board more versatile for freeride, downhill and longboard distance skating. Sorry to the high flying freestylers; your welcome to the big slide, bomber, speed pushers. We love you all. DESIGN Part of what makes this longboard so special is the commutability and we really wanted to highlight that aspect of it. In addition to the lowered platform, we shaved out 1/2" notches in the middle to add just an ever so slight flex into the mix to soften the ride and provide a little more liveliness as an every day commuter. Flex will be noticed when standing in the center of the deck while pushing, but when locked in on the standing platform, the deck is solid and stable. Once in freeride position, riders will notice a comfortable but powerful concave combined with rocker and radial drops that lock feet in like bindings on a snowboard. All of this combined makes initiating slides effortless, and you can be assured that your feet will stay in place as long as you're going sideways. 9-ply Canadian Maple 26" Effective Foot Platform 30" Wheelbase 1/2" Radial Drop 1/2" Rocker Along EFP 36" Long 9.75" Wide 9/16" Concave CONSTRUCTION
The construction on the Sportster is 9-plys of sturdy, Canadian rock maple and is made in our North Carolina manufacturing facility. It is cold pressed for extra strength using our special composite blend glue. After fully curing, the mold is CNC cut and drilled, and the longboard is sanded smooth. The board then goes through a wood finishing process, which includes several cycles of sealing and sanding. SETUPS One of the key features of this deck is it's setup versatility. We tweaked and re-tweaked the shape so that it would accommodate a huge range of trucks and wheels, allowing riders to piece together their favorite setups without fear of wheel or rail or shark bite. We suggest that stock 180mm or wider trucks at any turning angle will allow riders to be bite free with up to 77mm wheels. Wheels larger than 77mm are possible, but you may need to tweak your trucks slightly. Our favorite setups include Paris or Randal trucks with 70mm Swift wheels for sliding and general commuting, Caliber or Bear trucks with 70mm Premier wheels for more technical downhill, and Surf-Rodz 45-degree or 50-degree RKPs and 75mm Royce Premier wheels for fast downhill. For a pure commuting, super low, pot-hole eating city/campus cruiser try Surf-Rodz Indeesz or Independent 215 trucks with 75mm Royce Premier wheels. Any of these setups will be great for commuting, but if your buying this board for the effortless slides, we definitely suggest Swift Wheels. As always, if your not sure please give us a call at 1-855-NYC-PUSH, email skate@bustinboards.com or post your question on our Facebook Fan Page. Ask us, we f'ing love this stuff. POSSIBILITIES
Again, this is not a freestyle board so if you're looking to skate transitions and pop ollies, get a Yoface or a Boombox or a Fiberglass Maestro. Also, if your looking for a pure downhill board (regular speeds of 50mph +) we suggest looking at the Ibach or EQ decks. While the Sportster is great for casual downhill, its definitely not the go to race deck for our pro team because of the mild flex. For everything else, this board will suit your needs and blow your mind. The slight dampening flex and hip notch shape makes it excellent for cruising the streets, and the low, foot locking platform assists for effortless sliding and moderate downhill. The cherry on top is the lean 36" frame so you can rip hard and stash it like a lunch box. We're extremely proud of this design and are stoked to see all the pics and videos of it's sexy silhouette gliding on streets around the world. Make moves. Proudly Made in the USA. |
