Luke Barnett, dental ceramic specialists

At Luke Barnett we strive to produce high quality cosmetic solutions for all your dental needs. In partnership with your dental surgeon, our dedicated team of highly skilled technicians will create natural looking restorations for you. This can be achieved by prescription from your dental surgeon or by your visiting our purpose built laboratory for shade taking and custom finishing.

Products

Metal free

If you want the ultimate aesthetic result, all ceramic restorations can be manufactured in materials such as Alumina Oxide and Zirconia-Oxide.

These materials display ideal properties for use within the oral environment. They are completely inert and react to light in a similar way to natural dentition.

This new generation of materials, particularly Zirconia, has immense strength and so is ideal for the construction of all-ceramic bridges, which were problematic in the past. These state-of-the-art materials are Cad/Cam designed and milled on our premises by an in-house team of experts.

Inlays and Onlays

Bonded restorations are clearly the products of choice for the future of restorative dentistry. We have produced countless restorations over the years in state-of-the-art materials. BellGlass is a superb choice for our clients and we have total confidence in its place in the market.

We produce beautiful Felspathic Restorations and are currently embracing the Cad/Cam revolution, utilizing the Sirona inLab milling machine to produce milled glass restorations from pre-sintered glass ingots.

The future is here!

Laminates and Veneers

Although we have been producing laminates and veneers successfully for over 20 years, recent developments in science and technology have enabled us to produce thin restorations of great beauty and amazing strength.

These restorations are the principal products used in the construction of our Smile Lift cases.

Metal Ceramics

Traditionally the use of gold substructures was the key to successful restorative dentistry. In modern-day dentistry All-Ceramics have given us another dimension that is justifiably more in vogue.

Nevertheless, there will always be a need for metal ceramics because of their exceptional masking properties and their favourable wear characteristics, typically in destructive occlusal scenarios. Furthermore, where there is limited space, the substructures can be thinned down to 0.2mm with no discernible deterioration in integrity.

Implants

Implantology is the science of fusing Titanium fixtures (and more recently Zirconia fixtures) to the bone of the jaw. Its development over more than 30 years has given untold improvement in quality of life to many people.

It has drastically reduced the need to prepare otherwise healthy teeth for the production of restorative dental procedures.

Smile design

"Where precision dental ceramics and art become one".

It has been said that the restoration of one’s smile is the most effective cosmetic procedure for regaining confidence and self esteem. The Adult Dental Health Survey showed that a beautiful smile was perceived as a sign of health and affluence.

The ability to diagnose and visualize intra-oral functional change takes years to understand and execute effectively. We are one of the country’s leading exponents of this art form and are responsible for literally hundreds of successful cases. We are proud to work alongside some of Europe’s leading specialist dental surgeons in this fast-growing, patient-driven area.

The process entails diagnosis and joint planning between us, and may incorporate a combination of different products, dependent on your individual needs.

Services

Consultation

Communication is the key to success in all cosmetic cases, whether it’s a single tooth or a full mouth reconstruction. We actively encourage patients and dentists to visit our laboratory to discuss their individual requirements and, where appropriate, to treatment-plan each case from a technical perspective.

Product choice

It has always been our policy to provide the best possible products and systems on the market. We have recently embraced the digital revolution and invested heavily in state-of-the-art Cad/Cam milling technology. Our research has taken us on several fact-finding visits to Germany, where we eventually chose the 3M ESPE Lava milling centre and the Sirona inLab milling centre. These machines represent the ultimate in dental Cad/Cam technology.

Shade taking and custom finishing

For the most accurate reproduction of natural dentition, we advise at least one visit to our facility for colour assessment. We use both traditional and digital systems and can advise on the best material for your individual needs. The cost of this service is included in our specialist services tariff.

To enable us to refine colour, shape and surface detail, we recommend patients visit us for custom-finishing of the restorations prior to fitting. This usually takes one hour and is strongly advised for anterior cases. The cost of this service is included in our specialist services tariff.
