IABC Canada congratulates 2012 Silver Leaf Winners

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in Canada is proud to present 60 Silver Leaf Awards this year in recognition of outstanding achievement in communication. From a record high of 225 entries, 18 Awards of Excellence and 42 Awards of Merit have been awarded honouring exceptional communication professionals nation-wide.

See the complete winners list. The 2012 award winners will be recognized for their achievements at the Silver Leaf Gala celebration, taking place Thursday, November 1, 2012 as part of the IABC 2012 Canada Business Communicators Summit.

As IABC awards programs are revised in response to member feedback, several changes were put in place for the 2012 Silver Leaf program:
•    All award submissions were reviewed at a Blue Ribbon Panel, so each entrant received feedback from experienced professional communicators;
•    Award evaluators received training to improve consistency in scoring entries and providing comments; and
•    A revised score sheet was introduced, providing extensive feedback to assist and encourage entrants as they continue to improve their work.

Additional changes, including an integrated online award submission and evaluation process, will be introduced for the 2013 program.

The International Association of Business Communicators recognizes excellence in organizational communications at the international, national and chapter levels. Silver Leaf Awards are Canada’s national recognition program.
