About ReMARKable Palate Personal Chef Service

As a personal chef, I come to your home at your convenience, and do all the work, saving you time and money, and assuring that you get exactly the meals you want, when you want them.

Whether it's regular weeknight meals for the family, stocking the freezer with meals for a new mother, a special romantic dinner for two, or an in-home cooking lesson for you and your friends, I am here to provide you with fresh, custom made meals, and an entertaining time.

You can also give a gift certificate for a personal chef service or a custom cooking class! Hiring a personal chef is a great customer appreciation gift for businesses large and small.

A note about my travel fee. I charge $35/hr plus cost of the train ticket for travel outside Manhattan. Please call me for details.*

Mark C. Tafoya is a New York City personal chef. He is also a world traveler and self-taught gourmand. A graduate of Yale University and a former Broadway actor, his love of travel and food has taken him around the world. He hopes to share his love of world cuisine with you!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Experience, training and pedigree matter, but most important for a personal chef service is being comfortable with the chef. Call the chef up and talk to them, have them know what you're looking for and what matters to you in your event, or how you'd like your family to be fed.

Having a good rapport is the most important aspect!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My broad range of experience and travel sets me apart from other personal chefs. I travel the world and create food and wine videos for The Gilded Fork's Culinary Media Network. We celebrate the foods of the world, and I bring those flavors back to you!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The Happy man is one for whom there is no distinction between work and play, and I LOVE to play in the kitchen! I enjoy bringing pleasure to people, and make their lives easier.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. People often ask me "What's your specialty?" And to that I answer that I'm an internationalist, and always exploring new cuisines. I love to prepare foods from all over the world, and usually my favorite dishes to make are from the last place I've visited! What that means for you is that I'm always exploring and expanding, and love to bring authentic flavors to your table.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. It's not very complicated, but most services are customized. I sometimes charge an hourly fee plus the cost of groceries, and sometimes it's a flat fee that I estimate based on the needs of your event: Number of people, travel, menu, etc.
