2011-12 Midyear Study Overview of Results
|
CANADIAN ADULTS LOVE THEIR NEWSPAPERS
NADbank Inc.’s Mid-Year Study indicates that nearly 8 in 10 urban adults read newspapers every week
“The results of this study confirm that daily newspapers continue to be a vital source of news, information and entertainment for consumers,” says Anne Crassweller, President of NADbank. “Readers migrate between print and web editions of newspapers on a daily basis, however printed editions continue to be the most popular way to “read” a newspaper.” The readership of daily newspapers for both printed and online editions remains stable in all these markets.
Weekly readership results for other markets are 79% in Montréal, 80% in Vancouver, 80% in Ottawa-Gatineau, 80% in Calgary, and 79% in Edmonton.
Any Online Yesterday or Online Weekly Readership includes readership at the website and Hubs (not applicable to individual newspaper titles).
