A note to all our users: I thought I had the Favorites situation fixed, but it appears that in certain instances it still is not working right.
Trying to fix the problem has highlighted something I've worried about for the past year. Specifically that the code-base on which this site runs has not been updated in almost 2 years.I keep checking for signs of work on the software, but so far with no luck.
With that in mind, I'm slowly working towards a long-term solution. It will take a while to implement, perhaps a whole year before it goes live, but be assured this place is not going to just fade away with glitchy software. Change is slowly happening on the back-end.
UPGRADE: One piece of the upgrade just happened today in Chat. It's a small thing, but I think it makes chat nicer: the number of allowed fonts has been upped from about 4 to a total of 8. Well, the spammers are at it again. They are using bots to sign up and they overwhelmed our server this past weekend, causing it to be shut down. At first I didn't know what they were doing, but once I got the site going again, I saw a huge amount of sign-ups for new accounts in the space of only a few hours.
Until I can upgrade the registration system (again), I have shut it down. So, until I can get it going again, all new REAL would-be members:
