IT Services was created on 1 August 2012 through a merger of the three previous central IT departments: Oxford University Computing Services (OUCS), Business Services and Projects (BSP) and ICT Support Team (ICTST).
IT Services is committed to carrying forward the best of the values of these three departments in a new, dynamic IT service which will support the University of Oxford in fulfilling its mission as a world-leading research and teaching university.
The Chief Information Officer, Professor Anne Trefethen, reports to the Registrar and liaises closely with partners across the University including the academic divisions, UAS and ASUC, and the Conference of Colleges.
Profile of the Chief Information Officer
Professor Anne Trefethen was appointed to the new post of Chief Information Officer on 1 March 2012. Prior to this, she was Director of the Oxford e-Research Centre.
Before coming to Oxford in 2005, Anne Trefethen was a Director of the UK e-Science Core Programme and, prior to this, she worked at NAG (Numerical Algorithms Group) in both management and technical roles. She has spent ten years in the US at Thinking Machines Corp and at the Theory Centre, Cornell University, in leadership roles.
She is a fellow of St Cross College.
