About Marieke van de Rakt

Marieke van de Rakt studied Sociology and Communication Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Subsequently, she worked at the university on a dissertation about the criminal careers of fathers and their children. She obtained her PhD in januari 2011. As of januari 2011, she works as a teacher and researcher at the Avans University of Applied Sciences in Den Bosch.
Marieke van de Rakt is married to Joost de Valk and they have three amazing children together. Ever since Joost was starting up his own company, Marieke tried to be as much involved as possible. Nowadays, she helps Joost with all the research activities in his company. Her specialties are the quantitative research methods, which turned out to be quite useful at Yoast. Marieke is aiming to do more research-projects in the near future.
