21 New Yorkers Who Want to Go on a Blizzard Date
by Michelle L. Dozois on February 08, 2013On a Friday in late December of last year, New Yorkers were told by the NYT‘s City Room blog that the “ideal city snowstorm” was coming our way — an idyllic dusting that “blankets the landscape without burying it, [and] beautifies but does not burden.” Obviously, this kind of weather is perfect for ice skating, hot chocolate drinking and city strolling — all excellent date activities. (What we got? A slushy mess, sadly.)
Now, Blizzard Nemo is upon us. Depending on where you are in the city right now, you might be able to catch snowflakes on your tongue… or you might be pelted mercilessly with freezing rain. (We’re in the latter camp here in Dumbo.) But let’s remain optimistic that we’ll get just the right amount of snow this time, and everyone stays safe, and there’s no property damage.
Below are 21 New Yorkers who are hoping to enjoy (or in some cases, escape) the blizzard on a date. Join them! (Of course, use your best judgment, and do not go out if the conditions aren’t safe.)
