Things on paper that I’ve made or been heavily involved with

spacer I am the founding editor of a quarterly newspaper about doing things you’re not supposed to, called Hackers!

I write articles for national magazines most months.

I edit the increasingly occasional magazine ‘for people who’ve got something a bit wrong with them’, All The Rage.

spacer

It’s an anti-lifestyle magazine written by people I know to be great writers, but who I also entrust with the ATR spirit. It used to be monthly but is now going out on a special occasion basis. A summer special went up in July 2010.

The idea was to create a regular, readable, funny publication without any commercial pressures, and the result is a weird compendium of ordered lists of things it’s OK to drop when you’re going downstairs, and sincere articles on the lifestyle challenges presented by Jews on the Starship Enterprise.

spacer I’ve also written for and edited loads of commercial magazines. In York I wrote for local publications like Flock, a mag about young entrepreneurs by my now-friends Stone Soup. Then in Cambridge I was entrusted with a regular fashion column for East, as well as monthly fashion pieces for Cambridge Agenda. I moved to Colchester to be Deputy Editor of Move to the Country, a greenshifting national glossy, and while I was there I also wrote pieces for the genuinely lovely Grow Your Own and Period Ideas.

I think magazines are brilliant.
