SoCS Project for Improving Disaster Response Featured in Media
| The NSF funded inter-disciplinary project on Social-Computational Systems (SoCS) involving Social and Computer Scientists at Kno.e.sis and Ohio State University has been highlighted in media. Especially because the SoCS project (knoesis.org/research/semsoc/projects/socs) has significant real-life impact on improving state-of-the-art in organizational coordination during disaster situations with social media usage by unique inter-disciplinary approach. SoCS outcome will provide an online decision making platform for emergency response coordinators, through extension of Twitris platform (twitris.knoesis.org), which provides visualization for extensive social data analytics from various facets- People-Content-Network, Spatio-Temporal-Thematic, Sentiment-Emotion-Subjectivity etc. SoCS and Twitris have drawn following media attention in local and national media:
