- A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the Save Lindsay Sandiford campaign. Lindsay was able to raise the money to appeal her death sentence in Bali and so I’ve shut the campaign down and refunded the money we raised (as we couldn’t use it for other purposes). In just one day, you guys raised close to four thousand dollars. Thank you.
- My next iOS Development Workshop, Modern iOS Development, takes place in Brighton on February 18–20, 2013. The three‐day course teaches you how to make native iPhone and iPad apps using Objective‐C and Cocoa Touch. The class aims to give developers a solid foundation in iOS development. Prior experience in iOS development is not necessary.
- My talk, A Happy Grain of Sand, was featured in The top 20 web conference talks of 2012 list on .Net Magazine.

Notes
- Diversity, equality, toxicity, etc. We all lose when a young man who cares about diversity and equality is hesitant to speak publicly about the subject because we’ve made it toxic to do so.
- Stop starting at my willy, please. It’s not everyday that you get mainstream media confirmation that you are, indeed, the owner of male genitalia. It is sad, however, when an important topic gets overshadowed by talk of willies.
- On false dichotomies and diversity. Having a diverse roster of speakers at a conference does not imply that those speakers were not chosen on merit.
- 2012: year in review I take a stroll down memory lane to review the year that’s been.
- Design is not veneer. This is a response to the article ‘How to make your site look half‐decent in half an hour’ by Anna Powell‐Smith on 24 ways.
