NARM Announces Product Metadata Platform Initiative

This is an update to NARM’s existing retailer database to include digital product data, along with additional functionality and flexibility that will make music commerce more fluid.

Smartphones' Rise Spurs New Growth In Mobile Music, But Payment Could Be A Problem
25 May, 2011, 11:40 amAccording to a report from The NPD Group, a steady increase in smartphone purchases, combined with the growing options for mobile music, helped fuel an increase in the number of active mobile-music consumers by almost 9M in 2010. Year- over-year mobile music listening increased from 12% of U.S. Web users in 2009 to 17% in 2010. In fact the ability to stream, download, or listen to music is the second most-used utility for Apple iPhones and Android phones, behind downloading apps and ahead of sending photos.
