About the Central Plains
Geriatric Education Center
The Central Plains
Geriatric Education Center (CPGEC) has been
providing geriatric training and resources to facilitate and promote
high quality, evidence-based and state-of-the-art care to the older
population since 1998. The CPGEC is housed at the Landon Center on
Aging, on the campus of the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC).
Its continuing education programs are developed to meet the needs of
health and human services professionals – RNs, LPNs, CNAs,
LMHTs,
Administrators, Aides, Social Workers, Physical Therapists,
Occupational Therapists, and other Allied Health Professionals
–
who care for geriatric patients in long-term care, home health and
other settings.
Program Locations
All of the
programs will originate at the Landon Center on
Aging
on the campus of the University of Kansas Medical Center. Additionally,
the programs will be broadcast by Interactive
Televideo (ITV) to other
sites across the region. We have confirmed the availability of ITV
sites located in the offices of the KU Area Health Education Centers
(AHECs) and some additional sites across the state. We have included
this information with program
listings. We will continue to make these
programs available to other ITV sites across the region as requested
and as the host sites are available. If your facility is not one of our
current ITV sites but has ITV capability, please contact us if you
would like more information on becoming an ITV site for our programs.
