PRWeek Student of the Year Winner: Kristin Amaral

The judges scrutinized the top 5 finalists' campaign pitches, journalist phone calls, and crisis scenarios to select a winner for the 2013 PRWeek Student of the Year award. Kristin Amaral from Rutgers University stood out as a vibrant, intelligent, poised young woman who would be prepared for a strong PR career.

The award honors an undergraduate student who shows outstanding ability in a range of core PR skills, and it is designed to attract, encourage and reward future talent. Kristin has won a $5,000 cash prize and an internship with Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

The 2013 Student of the Year finalists were:

Overview
For the 12th year, PRWeek is recognizing the impact students are making in the PR field by hosting the PRWeek award for Student of the Year. Launched to encourage those who will make up the PR profession in the future, this competition honors an undergraduate student who shows outstanding ability in a range of core PR skills. These students have been sought after by some of the top firms in the country and the Student of the Year program is a great proving ground for talent. In addition, marketers and companies are given a chance to see how they are perceived from a student perspective.
