TALE OF TALES

Six sisters are sent, one by one, on a journey through a sinister forest to the house of their grandmother, who is sick in bed. Will they stay on the path and be safe? Or will the mystery of the woods lure them into the arms of a wolf?

The Path is an unsettling reprise of a dark fairy tale, set in modern times. Featuring character animations by Laura Raines Smith and a musical soundtrack by Jarboe and Kris Force.

An old woman visits a city cemetery. She walks very slowly. The cemetery is filled with life. As she approaches the chapel in the center, the urban bustle fades away and she is left alone with her thoughts.

The Graveyard is a short snapshot of a life at its end, destined to make a big impression on the player. Featuring animations by Laura Raines Smith, sound by Kris Force and a special song by Gerry De Mol.

The Graveyard is available for Windows PC, Mac OS X, iPhone and Android, as a freely downloadable trial version and as full version with one small but significant difference.

A small wooden box filled with ordinary objects. Every time you open the box, three new objects appear. Over time, they decay. When you get three identical objects, a golden star appears on the cover of the box.

Vanitas is a mobile meditation on the fleetingness of life. Featuring music by Zoë Keating and memorable quotes from Nietzsche, Rimbaud, Ecclesiastes, Sappho, Duras and many others.

In a sun-drenched forest, magical deer celebrate the joys of life and togetherness. There is no violence and no speech but delightful surprises at every turn. And then there's the Twin Gods, majestically resting at the foot of the pond!

The Endless Forest is a playful multiplayer game without quests or rules or goals. Featuring charming animations by Laura Raines Smith and wonderful music by Gerry De Mol.

8 is a peaceful adventure set in a forgotten palace. Together with a playful autonomous protagonist, you uncover its secrets and restore the court's former splendor.

8 was our first project and we never succeeded in finishing it. But fear not: a new version of 8 is in the making!

Tale of Tales is the independent videogames development studio of Auriea Harvey and Michaël Samyn. Founded in 2003 and located in Belgium, Tale of Tales creates digital experiences that embrace the medium of videogames as an artistically expressive form.

Not satisfied with the limitations of competitive play, Tale of Tales explores new modes of interaction, in an attempt to open up the medium of videogames to many different kinds of players. We want to create elegant and emotionally rich interactive entertainment.

Essentially consisting of only two people, Tale of Tales is expanded with a handful of collaborators with each project. Contributing artists include Laura Raines Smith, Jarboe, Gerry De Mol, Kris Force and Takayoshi Sato.
