The Art Institute of Chicago has named Kate Nesin as associate curator of contemporary art, Art in America reports. Ms. Nesin is a former Mellon Fellow at the Toledo Museum of Art, and earned her Ph.D. at art-history powerhouse Princeton University. Before heading to Toledo, she was based in New York. Before that she was a predoctoral fellow at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

In other Art Institute news, there are quite a few fine-sounding shows open there right now, including solo presentations of work by Irving Penn, Danh Vo and sculptures by Cy Twombly.
