Yesterday, Disney announced Disney Infinity, a new game that looks to capture a segment of the huge audience created by Activision's Skylanders line of games. We're sure the announcement lit up the imaginations of many different children, but those trips into famous Disney worlds are going to cost a healthy amount of money. Back when Activision announced the first Skylanders game, a fair few people thought that offering collectible toys to use with a video game wasn't a winning idea. Google is constantly improving their seamless integration between their various services, and today they've focused on Gmail and Google Drive. Google is making it easier for users to attach Google Drive files into Gmail messages by allowing up to 10GB file sizes when sending an email, as long as the files are stored in your Google Drive, since Gmail itself wouldn't be able to store a 10GB file in the first place. Sparrow, the popular email client for iPhone, was acquired by Google over the summer, and it was announced the acquisition would mean no more feature updates for the app. However, that doesn't mean the Sparrow team would skip full iOS 6 and iPhone 5 support, so they ended up pushing out an update, but to everyone's surprise, it was rejected by Apple. We've entered the last full week of September, which means that autumn, pumpkins, and little children asking for free candy are all in the near future (for some of us anyway). Today we found out that the iPhone 5 managed to sell 5 million units in its first weekend of availability, and that iOS 6 has been downloaded by 100 million users since it was released last week. Some enthusiastic analysts were left explaining their generous iPhone 5 sales predictions today, while others were saying that the iPhone 5 could top 50 million sales by the end of Q4. After being acquired by Google we later learned the popular app would get a feature freeze, and no further updates would be coming with what they called a ‘bug fix only’ status. The big blue social network has once again purchased a mobile developer group in Acrylic Software, this time opting to take the talent and leave the already developed apps behind. This group is a creator of both mobile and desktop applications, but you might know them best from the apps Wallet and Pulp. Popular iOS and Mac email app Sparrow has been acquired by Google, with the team responsible for the iPhone and OS X app headed to take up roles in Google's Gmail division. "We care a lot about how people communicate, and we did our best to provide you with the most intuitive and pleasurable mailing experience" Sparrow announced today. Another update for the iOS mail client Sparrow has been pushed out today, bringing it to version 1.2. New features include additional languages, landscape support, label creation and editing from within the app, and refined message navigation.
