Nokia has sponsored the WIMA NFC event at Monoca, which runs from the 11th to 13th April 2012.

At the event they introduced the Nokia Lumia 610 NFC, the first publicly launched NFC Windows Phone, though there are a few unannounced devices floating around at present.  Today they posted this video of applications using NFC technology. All of the demoes appear to be on either Symbian or Meego devices, but there is of course no reason why these applications can not work on Windows Phone 7 also.

To me in fact the most exciting feature is the tag writer, which allows one to program tags directly.  If tags are cheap enough (it seems you can get 10 tags for $15) I can imagine placing them around your environment to perform many useful tasks e.g launch the GPS navigation app in the car, launch an alarm clock app at your bedside, initiate synching with your computer when you touch it, or mute you phone when you get to your desk.
