The Cave is out TODAY!!
Ok before we start, take a look at the trailer for…. ……..the cave
I’m excited to say that Double Fine has released yet another great looking game. For those who live under a rock…or perhaps in a cave, Double Fine is the same studio that made one of my favorite games of all time, Psychonauts. It’s also done by Ron Gilbert who you might know from previous Maniac Mansion fame. I didn’t know his name back then but I played that quite a bit on my NES and even own a copy still. Double Fine is cranking quality games out at an amazing pace and judging from the trailer this will be no exception. I instantly bought it.
The Cave is an adventure game that lets you select 3 adventurers out of 7 possible choices. Each character is played differently and they each add something different to the game. You then enter the cave and explore. Sounds like fun right? If you want to know what else is in the cave you’ll have to play it. That’s all that’s really known to me at the moment.
IT HAS DRAGONS!!!

Why is it effective to ignore trolls?
One of the biggest problems plaguing forums is the “forum Troll”. They come in many shapes and sizes. Some are easy to spot others are not necessarily trolls but rather people who cannot be happy yet continue to play a game and post in it’s forum. Someone you disagree with is not a troll. They are just a person of differing opinion. This can lead to two people trolling each other however. We won’t get into the types of trolls but there is one effective method to combating them once you have identified them.
Ignore them. This, of course, is seemingly impossible because even if you ignore them someone else is not. This is true and unfortunately will probably always be true BUT with your help it doesn’t have to be. Here’s what a troll needs to be successful. Action (usually done by the troll in the form of repeated posting, down rating, name calling, opinion pushing) and of course a reaction (usually done by a forum member with a response of disgust).
Here’s an example, you make a post explaining a part of game you don’t like or have trouble with. Someone replies with “get good kid”. This is a flame. Once you respond it’s all over but the banning. Maybe this will turn you into a troll and you follow the person into another thread and flame him first. He reports it and you get banned or you go off so bad that both of you get banned. The troll doesn’t care if he gets banned and you might, so that is considered mission accomplished to the troll.
If you think about it, in a social setting how would you feel if you walked up to a bunch of people and said hello and they all just kept on talking about what they were talking about and ignored you. Would you say hello again? Would you find someone else to say hello to? Would you get bored of saying hello and stop greeting people altogether? Everyone is different but in all cases saying hello was ineffective. That’s the beauty of the internet. You have the option to completely shut someone out by simply not saying a thing. They supply the fire but remember you are always holding the wood.

Minecraft Community on Xbox.com
Chances are if you play Minecraft you belong to some sort of Minecraft community somewhere. If you’re like me then you are always looking for more ideas and more communities to learn from and play with. Here’s a few threads on Xbox.com from the Minecraft Community there that might interest you.
A view of the monuments in XboxForumsCraft
Minecraft buddies!
The very basic. If you’re looking to play and mess around in a world or hook up with new friends this post is a good place to find them. Many people have met and created many things. Join them.
Gargamel dungeon coordinates
This is an interesting thread that has taken on a life of it’s own. If you have a map using the Seed “gargamel” you can hop into this thread and find coordinates to all kinds of dungeons and resources. Very handy if you’re looking to get the Pig achievement.
400/400 Club
You can add your name to the list of people who have finished ALL of the achievements in the game. If the game releases DLC we’ll likely begin a DLC thread as well but you can hop in here for now and maybe even offer help so others can add their name.
Forum Monument World
This world is run by The Resistance. He opens the world up and many people from the forums join and create monuments and creations. He then updates the thread with pictures community members have created. You can also see a preview in the image above.
If you’re a Minecrafter or a beginner there is a place for you on Xbox.com. Come say hello and show us what you can do.
