spacer Thanks, John!
As of the summer of 2004, nSync is no longer being developed or supported by everchanging. Our sincerest thanks and appreciation go out to John Anderson for all the effort he put into this product. Beacause he has made nSync avaliable under an opensource license, we are able to continue to build on his work and make nSync better. We wish him all the best and hope that he will remain a part of the Newton community.

The Newton is more than a really big PDA. But to keep it from becoming just a brick of a PDA, it needs to be able to share information easily with a modern desktop computer. We have our iPods to carry around our names and dates. The Newton can deal with all kinds of other information and it is our goal to help it share that information with OS X.

nSync is opensource and we welcome contributions from the Newton community. If you would like to make an improvement to nSync, we are happy to provide you with the latest code snapshot. All we ask is that you make your changes available to the community in accordance with the opensource license.

nSync 0.3.3
Think of nSync as the converse of iSync. Rather than sync just a bit of information to a whole bunch of devices, it syncs a whole bunch of information to one device, a Newton. nSync is a plugin based app that allows us to move information between our Newtons and our OS X based Macs. It comes with Address and Date syncing built in and you can add lots more functionality via the plugins listed below.

OmniSync
Sync your Newt Outlilnes and Checklists to OmniOutliner.

Getting the Newt info into Outliner should be simple enough as Outliner is AppleScriptable. Creating outlines and checklists on the Newt may be a challenge until nSync 0.4 comes out.

RelationsSync
If you use the Newton app Relations to gather genealogical data, you'll love this one. It takes the Relations data from your Newton and builds a GEDCOM 5.5 file on your Mac.

The current release is a proof of concept. See the ReadMe for details on its limitations.
