Suzanne Ness, M.A., CPCC

"Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination,

take a look and you'll see into your imagination.

We'll begin with a spin traveling in the world of our creation,

what we'll see will defy explanation."

This is the opening line to one of my favorite songs, and it is also true about the kind of coach that I am. My name is Suzanne Ness and I started my journey as a coach many years ago when I was a singer with my father. As a singer, I learned certain skills like how to "read" an audience and how to know what song to play next based on what I felt from the audience. It was listening and intuition, only I didn't realize that at the time.

I moved to Phoenix Arizona and decided I didn't want to be a singer anymore so I enrolled back into college and studied communications. My first job out of college was with a large training and development dept. where I was able to lend my creative musings to the development and facilitation of training classes for the employees. I loved teaching adult education. What I learned is that the best learning occurs when people discover the knowledge within themselves and I merely facilitate the process. As a coach, I do the same thing.

I obtained my Master's Degree in Organizational Management because I loved organizational development work. I left my corporate job after 5 years and soon after that, my family and I moved to Illinois to be closer to cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. My mom, Marybeth and I started Living Forward in 2004. I began my coaching training at CTI, Coaches Training Institute the following year, and in 2007 I completed certification. It has been an amazing journey and I absolutely love what I do.

I work with the following types of individuals:

  • Performing or creative artists
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Leaders and change agents
  • Young people transitioning into adulthood

I am inspired by my clients and I love being a coach.

I have three wonderful children, Josh, Madison and Chloe and I'm married to an amazing man who loves me big! In 2010 I ran the Chicago Half-Marathon and plan on doing so again. I enjoy setting challenges and working towards achieving them. I'm an entrepreneur to the core and my other interests include reading, traveling, visiting museums, and spending lazy afternoons sitting at outdoor cafes watching people stroll by. So sit awhile, and let's watch together.

"I really feel that you [Suzanne] have made me aware of many things about myself that are helping me take my company to the next level."  D.B.

"[Suzanne] was very good at presenting and easy to communicate with.  Class participation was wonderful, the whole experience was very good."

"Excellent class!  Great instructor!"

"The positive upbeat attitude of the speaker [Suzanne] kept the session interesting and informative.  She held the interest of the group."

"What I love about coaching with Suzanne is the support, encouragement, and feedback she gives me.  It has helped me to shift from a pessimistic view of myself and my life to a positive view and a greater feeling of comfort in my own skin.  I feel more peaceful in my life and more ready to meet any challenges of the day. S.M.
