Returning Students

If you are a returning student, please contact Robin Duran at 505-747-2195 or rld@nnmc.edu to sign up for offered courses.

Note:  If it has been more than 6 months that you last attended classes, you will be required to fill out a new registration form.

ORIENTATION AND ENROLLMENT

Once you've registered, you will be contacted to set up an orientation session.
When you arrive for orientation you will:

  • Receive a general overview about the ABE program and classes
  • Learn about ABE program's student code of conduct and attendance policies
  • Be asked to present any required documentation as listed under ABE Enrollment Requirements.
  • Complete an ABE Student Intake Application Form
  • Be provided with an appointment to take the assessment listed below.

NOTE: Parents of applicants who are 16 or 17 years of age are required to attend the orientation with their son or daughter. No other person is allowed to represent the parent unless they can provide proof that they are the legal ward of the applicant. Parents will also sign a Parental Consent and Release (PCR) form acknowledging that they are enrolling their minor son or daughter into a program intended primarily for adults, that the ABE program will treat the applicant as such, and release the ABE program from any consequences or damages that may occur because of this action.

ASSESSMENT, ADVISEMENT & PLACEMENT

The final step in the enrollment process is for the applicant to take an initial pre-assessment evaluation in order to determine course level and placement. The student will then meet with an instructor to review the assessment results, set academic and employment goals, and create an appropriate schedule of classes.
