The Information We Collect

When you visit Market Research Profound, your IP address is recorded. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by creating statistical reports and tracking errors. Your IP address is used to help identify you when you buy and to gather broad demographic identification that will not be tied to your identity.

Content and Data Server:
As of May 2, 2007, Profound has become a subsidiary of MarketResearch.com and all agreements under this privacy policy apply. However, during a transitional phase which will last for several months, content and data will be housed at Thomson Business Intelligence (TBI), the previous owner of the Profound Market Research service. TBI will remain the service provider for many aspects of the MarketResearch.com Profound service during this transitional phase, and they agree to adhere to doing business according to their own privacy policy, which has been their standard while owning the Profound service.

Credit Card Processing:
When you purchase something with a credit card, we use a credit card processing service provider to verify your credit card and bill you. Any financial information we collect is used only to bill you for the products and services you purchased. If you purchase by credit card, this information may be forwarded to your credit card provider. In addition, the name of your company (but not your name or contact information) may be shared with the publisher of the information you bought.

Links to Other Companies' Sites

Our Website (MarketResearch.com) may contain links to sites maintained by companies that are not affiliated with Business Intelligence Services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those sites, and we encourage you to use caution when visiting them. Other Third Parties

Tracking Service:
A third party tracking service provider may set cookies on our website (MarketResearch.com) to help us track to what extent sales are being generated from various marketing efforts. This information is only used in the aggregate. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

Also, our third party tracking service employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of website users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are tied to users’ personally identifiable information but are used only by MarketResearch.com to determine the effectiveness of various marketing programs.
