- Welcome Session for Day 2
The Future of Ghost Science:
Where is ghost hunting
headed? Is it going anywhere? Vince Wilson, author of Ghost Tech and
Ghost Science, will be discussing the scientific theories behind
ghosts and hauntings and what will be needed to have ghost hunting
taken seriously by academics.
10:15 - 10:30 AM: Break Dangers of the Paranormal: Have you ever wondered what may happen when you investigate an alleged haunted location only to find out that it is a stomping ground for the demonic? Have you ever had an entity follow you home after an investigation only to have it change your personality and attack your family? What if you were at a nightclub and a group of vampires invite you back to a hotel room and the police find your dead, skinless body the following day? These are just some of the dangers that people face while dealing with the paranormal. What if your mother brought a beautiful picture home and you find yourself being terrorized by the spirit who came with it? How about a board game that bites back? Derek will enlighten you to the field of investigating. He will make you think before picking up a flashlight and tape recorder. This presentation is multi-media and audience participation is encouraged. 11:30 - 12:45 PM: Lunch Break 1:15 - 2:15 PM: Troy Taylor -- Ghosts by Gaslight
Ghosts by Gaslight:
Join author Troy Taylor for a
historical and haunted look at the rise of the Spiritualist movement
in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the enigmatic mediums who
communicated with the dead and the first "ghost hunters" to
investigate them. Discover how these early investigations influenced
the way that we hunt for evidence of the spirit world today and also
see Taylor's collection of antique ghost hunting equipment and how
these devices are still being used in their modern form.

Spirits of the Civil War & Gettysburg:
John Weavers fascination with Gettysburg began as a child during his
first visit in 1962. Living less than an hour away, he has regularly
explored the rich history of the town and battlefield for 40 years.
Since the early 1990s, with the help of his Psychic-Medium wife Kelly,
another dimension was added to his explorations: the paranormal. Weaver
will share photographic, video and audio (EVP) evidence, along with
personal insights from investigations of both famous and little known
places that ran red with blood in July, 1863. This presentation will
bring the most haunted battlefield in North America to life in a theater
named after the president whos "few appropriate remarks" set aside the
final resting place for thousands who died there. The Ghosts of London: Alan Brown is a
professor of English at the University of West Alabama. His presentation
will consist of ghost stories he collected during his visit to London,
England, in July 2006. Brown will focus on London's traditional ghost
stories, but he will also discuss the similarities between English and
American ghost tales. 4:45 - 5:00 PM: Break 5:00 - 6:00 PM: Jeff Belanger -- Our Haunted Lives Our Haunted Lives: Jeff Belanger presents a history of ghost hunting from the Nineteenth Century to the present and offers a look at how ghost hunting has changed in recent years and what it takes to be a real ghost hunter in the modern era. Are you a real ghost hunter? You'll soon find out! 8:00 - 10:30 p.m. Kelly Weaver
