Below is personal and self-promotional stuff. There's articles, pics and a bonus boring personal history. For professional info visit my audio technology business silentway.com, and my work as voice actor. For music, check out TastyCast.com, my labor-of-love guide to net radio, and my DJ/MC alter-ego, DJ Appropriate!

My Resume

See my resume, which is always a little bit out of date. Or you can e-mail me to request other formats, a personally autographed cover letter and many glowing references. Please also see my extensive list of clients, discography of noted releases and recording venues.

My Performance Resume

My performance resume covers my work since 1984 as live event emcee, voice actor, FM radio DJ, performing DJ (as DJ Appropriate), trivia quiz host, singer and stage actor.

For bylines and public appearances I use this:

Tony Brooke is a professional music technology know-it-all. Silent Way is his remote audio recording, equipment rental and consulting company. Tony has recorded hundreds of major-label and independent artists, in every major venue in San Francisco. A slew of releases are listed in his discography and client roster.

He has also worked in every stage of music creation and broadcasting: as a producer, engineer, FM program director, DJ, webcaster, webmaster, technology advocate, teacher and musician.

SilentWay.com is his over 300,000 hits/month info motherlode, with thousands of articles, links, Mac tips and equipment guides. For the best of streaming radio, tune in to his TastyCast.com.

Tony has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1991, DJs as DJ Appropriate, and is a big fan of reusable cable ties.

Technology can be used as a powerful tool or an ineffectual crutch. Tony builds tools out of crutches, making music happen.

I DJ with the stage name Appropriate

Any style, any place, any time. Check out DJAppropriate.com for upcoming shows, playlists and gig pics.

Articles I've written on music and technology topics:

I tried to come up with a self-description for publication bylines, but they all sounded phony except: "...is a wiseass music technology know-it-all who has serious issues with thinking inside the box."

I barely use Facebook, and I just have a placeholder profile on Twitter because I'm skipping a generation. I mean seriously, does anyone care enough to search for me on the previous time vacuums MySpace, Tribe.net, Friendster and Six Degrees? I thought not. See you at the next one.
