Through the generosity of private donors and charitable trusts, PIRC has always been able to pursue research genuinely in the public interest, without interference or compromise. If you would like to support PIRC or one of its projects donate here.
Future funding
PIRC continues to seek funding. Over the next three years, our goal is to diversify our sources of grant funding – to build secure relationships with a varied group of funders, and ensure our long-term financial independence. In the longer-term, we hope to establish social enterprises which develop ideas that arise from our research, generate revenue, secure our long-term independence, and demonstrate our ideas in practice.
Independence and integrity are our greatest assets, and we only seek to pursue opportunities that support our core values.
Funding to date
PIRC was set up with grants from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable and Social Services Trusts. One way or another, JRCT has supported every one of our major ventures over the years.
PIRC has also been core-funded for many years by the 1970 Trust, and grants for individual projects have in the past been given by other organisations including Consumers Association, Social Science Research Council, Allen Lane Foundation, Dag Hammarskjold Foundation, Nuffield Foundation, Ford Foundation, MIND, Trocaire and War on Want.
