UNVEILED: 2014 NISMO 370Z

      Attendees of the Chicago Auto Show will get a first chance preview of the 2014 Nismo 370Z. Nismo is the motorsports and performance division of Nissan, now setting its focus on race-bred, factory-tuned and extreme performance cars for us average street joes, in addition to real race cars. These cars are built in Nissan factories and come with the full Nissan warranty.

      Nissan is streamlining the Nismo brand by creating a unifying look among all their current and future entries for a strong visual impact. The use of new exterior colors with dark grey accents and red stripes will distinguish Nismo vehicles into a class by themselves. The star of the special tuner line should again be the 2014 Nismo 370Z. This car is 6.2 in. longer than its standard 370Z coupe brother, and this car’s exterior screams fast. The aerodynamic performance are all byproducts of an extended front nose design and a fully integrated chin spoiler, special side sills, a unique rear bumper and functional rear spoiler.

       The 350-bhp DOHC V-6 is enhanced through use of the exclusive H-configured exhaust system design and muffler tuning, along with optimized ECM (Engine Control Module) calibration. The 6-speed manual transmission takes it up a notch with Nissan’s SynchroRev Match System, which automatically controls and adjusts engine speed to smooth out up/down gear shifts when the clutch is engaged.

       The 370Z NISMO is tuned for outstanding handling and performance in part, through the front double-wishbone and rear 4-link suspension design, including higher spring and stabilizer rates and increased roll stiffness. A 5-spoke Gun Metallic finished 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza s001 Y-rated high performance tires round out the handling package. Look for the new 2014 370Z NISMO to hit Nissan showrooms starting this summer.
