We’ll Be Back

posted in yin&yang by Yin

So we’ve been hinting at something here and there for a while now. You may have noticed from the lack of original content as of late that we’ve been preparing for a change – all will be revealed in just over a month’s time. It’s definitely taking Y&Y in a slightly different direction to what it is now; quoting our resident wordsmith Tahirah - ‘We don’t just curate the cool, we create it’. That should give you a clear picture of what’s to come! When we started Y&Y 3 years ago Yang and I just wanted to talk about what we liked, little did we know that would be the cause of an issue over time. Covering EVERYTHING and anything makes it difficult to keep up to date with it all. Over the years we’ve refined, grown and tailored Y&Y into a more sleek offering rather than just talking about everything, you can certainly see our personal interests and life growth that has influenced it all. More on the reverse.

Competition | Win An Eastway Bike

posted in other by Yin

spacer

Boy oh boy oh boy. Cycling has been one of the most popular UK hobbies/sports over the past few years, especially in London since our man Boris introduced his Barclay’s bike scheme. I’ve wanted one since the age of 5, for some reason my parents never bought me one and it’s definitely the reason I lack a sense of balance. So we’ve teamed up with urban cycling specialists over at Eastway Bikes to give one lucky a reader a chance to win a bike worth £2000. Hop on after the cut to find out how you can win.

1000km by Atelier Olschinsky

posted in art & photography by Yin

It’s never too late ey? I just came across this beautiful set of editorial work by Atelier Olschinsky for their self-published Neverthless Magazine, shot at the 1000km Red Bull Ring in 2011. It’s the variety of angles and the beautiful washed-out post process that stood out for me, it’s real eye-catching and certainly different to the bog standard racing shots I’ve seen in the past. Racing is definitely usually portrayed as a masculine sport, it’s nice to see it softened up and a little more graceful in this collection. Hop on after the cut to see the full set.
