I’m sort of dwelling on yesterday’s color of the month interiors post. That hot pink Thonet chair is haunting me. I keep seeing interiors shots with the perfect balance of pop chair and it feels so right. I’m totally one of those all-white-and-serene interiors people, but this mood board really gives me the inspiration to mix in a touch of color. Maybe one day…
I’m in a bit of a sassy mood this morning where I prooobably should have stayed under the covers and not been allowed to talk to anyone until I snap out of it. These sassy tees from the Print Liberation Shop are perfect for today though because, let’s be real here, I have to get out of bed today.

Hot pink can be tricky for home decor. Too much and you risky looking like a teeny-bopper’s bedroom. However, when mixed with different materials and neutrals, I totally think hot pink has a place in the home. Here are some pieces ranging from investment to every-day objects that can add that punch of pink without veering too young!

It’s Pi Day! I’m not exactly a math fiend, but I am certainly a pie fiend and any excuse to eat pie is fine by me. Anne tipped me off and shared a little nugget of news for all you lucky California folks: Three Babes Bakeshop is offering free delivery ALL DAY in honor of Pi Day. With combos like Vanilla Sugar Buttermilk, Salty Honey Walnut, and Bittersweet Chocolate Pecan, how can you possibly resist??
So what are you waiting for?? Place your order here!
On Saturday I attended the Etsy Pop-Up shop at West Elm. Curated by Jaime Derringer of Design Milk, this event brought local awareness to some of my old favorite and new favorite Etsy shops. It was such an energetic shopping experience, complete with Federal Donuts (you know how much I love them…) and my very first Smilebooth!

Sometimes I forget the last time I used a pencil. I mean, I take notes during meetings at work, but rarely is it anything more than a quick scribble. I use my laptop and iphone for everything these days, even journaling. While I was in LA, Anne reminded me to slow down and take time for things. I’ve taken that to mean writing in a proper, paper journal. I love the idea of writing with a pencil, too. There’s something lovely about wearing down the lead to a nubbin and having to sharpen again. Plus, I always seem to need an eraser.

Here’s a secret: I love a good muumuu. Boxy, blousy, oversized, swimming in fabric… that’s my favorite silhouette. Paired with a skinny jean and a statement shoe and you’re good to go. A chunky necklace doesn’t hurt, either!
I’m thinking of starting style posts. What do you think of my first go?

Guys, my birthday is ONE week away! I’ll be turning 28 and I find myself feelin’ a bit introspective and thoughtful this year. What am I doing with my life? Where am I going? What’s next? It’s all very existential. I keep reminding myself to try and stay light in my thinking. Afterall, what good does it do to brew? But what isn’t existential is my birthday wish list! Here are some treats I am hoping for this year.
Summer has been on my mind a lot. I know I know, we haven’t even made it to spring yet, but I can’t help myself. I popped into Free People the other day and was positively wow-ed by their dress assortment. From easy, breezy jersey to fanciful lace and embroidery, I am really feeling the urge to splurge in their dress shop this season…

This week has been all about regrouping. I’ve been traveling so much lately that all my body craves is to sit down and hold still. This weekend I sort of went subterranean. I really only left my apartment a couple of times, once to attend the Etsy Pop-Up shop at West Elm and then various other times to walk my latest dog-sitting charge, Gumbo. The Etsy event was great, more on that to come! So now it’s Sunday and I’ve got a mountain of laundry to tackle. Good thing I slept ’til noon!
