Bismillah
As mentioned in the second lesson on Sunday, Sayyidi Habib Umar (may Allah preserve him) has prescribed the following set of dhikr to help overcome the shahawat (base desires, appetites):
To say:
يا قهار
Ya Qahhar (The Conqueror, The Ever-Dominating) - 181 times a day
and 100 times a day of the following verse from sura Hashr (59:22):
هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ
Huwa Allahu allathee la ilaha illa huwa AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati huwa alrrahmanu alrraheemu
He is Allah, than whom there is no other God, the Knower of the invisible and the visible. He is the Beneficent, the Merciful (Picktall)
Allah Most High knows best and He alone gives success.
