DIPLOMATIC STRAIN OVER THE DEATH OF HALLOWED HENRY IV
STILL NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ILLYRIAN AUTHORITIES
The assassination of the Illyrian King, reported exclusively by the Aporia Times last week has led to unprecedented diplomatic issues. King Henry IV was shot in the chest last Tuesday by an independent musketeer, later identified as a retired Mieren soldier. King Henry was declared dead of his wounds at 11:32am by the royal coroner of Illyria in his bed chamber, after he was taken inside from the front steps of the Vauxmont Royal Chateau where the tragedy occurred. King Henry was addressing his subjects on the topic of the anticipated diplomatic union with the abroad kingdom of Kansai. It has now been carried out that, until the late King's eldest son can have his coronation arranged, the kingdom is to be ruled by Henry's younger brother Gabriel, sworn in as Regent Protector. soon as plans are put into place for the event. Currently, however, Illyria's diplomatic relations are under severe strain. Whilst it is believed the captured shooter (whose identity has not yet been made public) was operating under his own vigilante motive, it is impossible to rule out the Mieren kingdom and its royal family with regards to a deliberate coup. Arrangements for fuel and metal between the two countries has never been smooth and some within the Illyrian noble circles have been heard casting aspersions concerning the late king's death.
On the other side of the border, Meiren Elders have been recorded as outraged that they should be blamed for the acts of a single "madman". So far, no official statement has been made by either the Court of Elders or the royal Saxenger family, besides a spokesperson forwarding his condolences to the Illyrian royals and the conviction that the matters of last Tuesday and the individual that caused them would be investigated thoroughly.

ed in or out of the kingdom, be they of Illyrian birth or not. This has caused untold issue for the students of the Great University, now unable to return home. Vaellel diplomats are attempting to speak with the Protector Gabriel and his noble court, concerning the shut down. The Vaellelan custom of family and unity has quickly pushed for action, as older generations seek the return of the younger. Reports so far, however, state that the Regent Protector has been closed up with his officials since the tragedy and is ignoring all requests for diplomatic immunity and entrance to outside authorities of any kingdom.
While tensions are high and relations delicate, it has yet to be reported whether or not the planned visit of the Kansai diplomatic party, scheduled for two weeks time, will be going ahead as planned. The only announcement yet made by the Illyrian officials is that the late King Henry will be entombed in the family crypt this Wednesday at noon. An empty casket procession and formal funeral is to be held as soon as the safety of King Henry's family has been secured and all potential threats dispersed.
