The BA (Hons) Sociology programme has been the longest-running degree offered within the Department, and it encompasses a broad range of teaching within the sociological tradition, from the long established to the cutting-edge of new approaches to understanding society. We also offer one of the most popular BA (Hons) Criminology programmes in the country, which benefits greatly from the practical experience teaching staff have gained working in the Criminal Justice system. For students who are seeking a more detailed engagement with policy and practice, we also offer the new BSc (Hons) Applied Criminology degree.
For students who wish to combine the study of our two specialist areas, we also offer a Joint Honours undergraduate degree, the BA (Hons) in Sociology and Criminology .
