spacer Sometimes those curious visionary curators at EMPAC seem to be satisfied with technology that’s really really old.  An example is Friday evening’s concert, which features that innovative instrument called the violin.  Actually, there should be plenty of innovation because the player is the always-insightful Jennifer Koh.  Her program is titled “Bach and Beyond” and features music by Phil Kline, Kiaja Saariaho, and John Zorn, as well as works of Bartok and J.S. Bach.

8 p.m. Friday, November 30
EMPAC, RPI Campus, Troy
