Download
Here you can download the latest version of Tagaini Jisho for your platform. If you like Tagaini, please consider showing your support by making a donation!
Windows
Windows installer binaries are available for Windows 98 or newer. You also need Japanese fonts and Microsoft IME in order to read and input Japanese. If you own Vista, it is recommanded that you install the Meiryo font for best visibility.
- 0.9.4
Mac
Mac OS X binaries are available. Two versions are proposed:, one that requires Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or later and a 64 bits system. It is a good idea to enable Japanese support.
- 0.9.4 64 bits for OS X 10.6 or later
- 0.9.2 universal binary for OS X 10.4 or later
The latest version of Tagaini should also be available from Macports.
Debian / Ubuntu / Mint
Experimental packages are available for users of Debian/Ubuntu (11.04 or more recent)/Mint Linux. They are absolutely not guaranteed to work, and will probably only work on most recent versions.
- 0.9.2 .deb i386
- 0.9.2 .deb x64
The preferred way to get most up-to-date packages for Ubuntu is most likely to use Geza Kovacs' PPA: https://launchpad.net/~gezakovacs/+archive/tagainijisho.
Official packages are also in preparation for Debian and Ubuntu.
Arch Linux
An AUR package is available for Arch users:
Source code / Linux or any other Qt4-supported platform
Hackers can get the source code of the release to play with it:
- 0.9.4 source code
The README.md file contains information about how to compile it.
It is strongly recommended that you enable Japanese fonts and input on your system to enjoy Tagaini. For best results, you can install the (proprietary) Microsoft Gothic font or Meiryo font if you own Windows Vista. If anyone knows about a free font that can replace these ones, please let us know!
The code repository with the latest development code are available on Github.
