Christopher Paul Stelling arrived in NYC in 08' with a guitar and a duffle bag. Not necessarily concerned with making a name for himself, circumstance and necessity soon found him singing and playing guitar on the subway platforms. The years prior had seen him through an odyssey. From studying under a master guitar builder in colorado, working a produce market in Boston, sleeping in a closet in North Carolina, managing a used bookstore in Florida, wandering aimlessly through Seattle, all without a said plan in mind, vaguely unaware that something was being stitched together beneath it all.

October: Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. Read one or both books by the popular "Dear Sugar" author.
Why wait for St. Patrick’s Day to enjoy the real thing – performers seeped in the tradition and willing to step out of it as well? The October edition of Two Chairs Telling puts two of the best – Yvonne Healey and Todd Menton – together to explore lyrical language on the tip of the tongue.
Yvonne Healy didn’t simply kiss the Blarney Stone; she swallowed it. A citizen of both Ireland and the USA, she spoke Gaelic and English until starting school. From this cultural stew grew one of America’s most endearing storytellers.
