Mizuho Financial Group, in conjunction with several Japanese companies, is planning to construct a 200MW solar plant in Gujarat, India.

Bloomberg reports that the plant is expected to generate as much as US$325 million and could be expanded to a capacity of 2,200MW.

Kyocera has also confirmed it has been discusing the possibility of supplying modules for Mizuho projects: "While nothing has been decided at this point, Kyocera has been in talks with Mizuho regarding the project in India, and we are in the process of discussing various proposals," said Judah Reynolds, Communications Manager.

Japan is one of the few countries that has not been targeted by India following accusations of dumping to the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties at the Indian Ministry of Commerce against China, US, Malaysia and Taiwan.
