spacer PUT DOWN THE PHONE AND MEET YOUR COLLEAGUES:  “Stars on the Avenue is fun – where we get to socialize with one another,” said event chair Alan Rogers MD.  “Last time I got to talk to a dozen doctors I had not seen in years even though I talk professionally on the phone with them almost every week.”

Stars on the Avenue, is set for Saturday, April 27, 7-10 p.m. in the courtyard at St. Phillip’s Plaza. Feel free to come as a character from 1920s or early 1930s Hollywood – or stick with Tucson casual. 

The evening honors PCMS Physician of the Year Gulshan Sethi MD.  Also recognized is PCMS Volunteers of the Year Evan Kligman MD and Mohammed Nomaan MDGary Figge MD will receive the Rose Marie Malone Award for Service to Organized Medicine.  John Clymer MD & wife Eloise will be honored for a lifetime of achievement on behalf of the medical society, its alliance and the people of Tucson.

Pima County Medical Foundation honors Richard Dale MD, James Dunn MD, Frank Marcus MD and John Wilson MD for exemplary lifetime achievements in the furtherance of medical education.

Food is being provided by several fine Tucson restaurants while Brad Nichols MD leads the band with music designed for listening, not dancing.

Tickets are $150 each, with a portion going to support Mobile Meals. We take Visa or MasterCard.  Call 795-7985.

FOUNDATION EVENT TURNS SPOTLIGHT ON INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY:  PCMS physician members Julie Zaetta and Stephen Smyth discuss interventional radiology during the Tuesday, April 9 Pima County Medical Foundation’s Evening Speaker Series. Dinner, provided by the Foundation at no charge, begins at 6:30 p.m. Please RSVP by noon April 8, 795-9484. THMEP designates this live activity for a maximum of one AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  THMEP is accredited by ArMA to sponsor CME for physicans.

PUTTING A POSITIVE FOOT FORWARD: Have your patients start 150 minutes of weekly exercise by sending them to Walk With a Doc, Saturday, April 13 at 8 a.m.  Led by a PCMS physician, walkers participate in an easy one- or two-mile stroll on level ground.  We begin at Rillito River Park, east side of Swan Bridge, south bank.  Have your patients arrive between 7:45 and 7:55 a.m.
