EURO Distinguished Service Medal Award
EDSM 2013 Announcement
The EDSM (EURO Distinguished Service Medal Award) is for recognition of distinguished service to the Association of European OR Societies (EURO) and to the profession of OR. The award will be officially delivered during the 2013 EURO Conference (Rome, July 1-4, 2013).
Eligibility
The EDSM 2013 will be given to an individual who has served the European OR community and the profession effectively for many years. No currently active officer of EURO (Executive Committee member, EDSM 2013 jury member, Organizing and Programme Committees Chairpersons of the EURO 2013 Conference) is eligible.
Award
The laureate will receive an award, a diploma, and will be invited to all future EURO Conferences without payment of the registration fees.
Selection process
The national member societies of EURO, the EURO Working Groups, the previous EURO Distinguished Service Medal Award laureates and previous EDSM jury chairs are kindly invited to send nominations for possible award recipients to the EDSM jury by the deadline indicated below. Please enclose, if possible, a CV or an equivalent document. Nominations must be made in confidence (i.e. the nominee should not be informed).
The jury will evaluate the proposed candidates essentially on basis of their distinguished services to EURO and to the profession of OR.

Deadlines
The deadline for submitting nominations is January 31, 2013.
The decision of the jury will be communicated to the EDSM laureate by March 5, 2013.
The decision of the jury will be publicly announced at the 2013 EURO Conference.
