CAR : ISCR
Institute for Scientific Computing Research (ISCR)
The Institute for Scientific Computing Research serves as a catalyst to develop interactions between academia and LLNL for computer science and computational science research and development. The ISCR strives to be the "eyes and ears" of the Laboratory in the computing and information sciences to keep the Laboratory aware of and connected to important external advances. It also attempts to be the "feet and hands," in carrying those advances into the Laboratory and incorporating them into practice. The ISCR sponsors research, hosts faculty and student summer programs, organizes technical workshops, and strives to influence academic programs to provide critical expertise to address LLNL's mission needs.
