Our research covers a wide range of modern astrophysics. We have particular expertise in radio-mm observational astronomy but we also make observations at a wide range of other wavelengths and combine these with theory and modelling.
Cosmology
The cosmic microwave background, large-scale structure, cosmological simulations and theories of the early universe. |

Including gravitational lensing studies of galaxies, black holes and dark matter, and studies of active galaxies, quasars and starbursts. |

Star formation and evolution, galactic structure, astrochemistry and interstellar dust. |
Pulsar Astrophysics
Searching for new pulsars, studying extreme physics, theories of gravity and the dynamic radio sky. |

Sun & Planets
Plasma and magnetic fields in the outer atmosphere of the Sun and the search for new planets orbiting other stars. |
Technology
Including large-format imaging & interferometric arrays, low-noise amplifiers and optical fibre data transfer. |
