Meet Your Experts
Dr. Andrew Jorgensen is an associate professor of chemistry and the director of general chemistry at the University of Toledo. He has served on the ACS Committee on Community Activities where his role included coordinating Chemists Celebrate Earth Day. He presently serves as Chair of the Society Committee on Education for the ACS. For several years he coordinated the Toledo Local Section’s Project Seed program. Dr. Jorgensen has given many presentations on climate change to various audiences including ACS local sections.
Dr. George Heard is an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of North Carolina Asheville and is currently the Chair of the American Chemical Society’s Committee on Community Activities. For the Western Carolinas Local Section, he is the National Chemistry Week and Chemist’s Celebrate Earth Day co-coordinator and coordinator of the Chemistry Olympiad. Dr. Heard is a native of Australia and has been living in the US since 1999.
